with friends like these…

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Israel’s deliberate and deadly attack on the USS Liberty, an American ship which was patrolling international waters in the Meditteranean at the time.  Thirty-four US Navy personnel were killed, and even though it was known then that the Israelis had already identified the ship as American prior to the attack, the US government (in its shameful obeisance to the Israeli lobby) chose to excuse this act of unadulterated terrorism.

Luckily, some of the survivors of the terrorist attack aren’t letting the issue slide.  They filed papers charging war crimes against Israel back in 2005, but very little has been heard about it since.  Since the government is required to investigate all charges of war crimes involving US personnel, we’ll see how this is dismissed again.  Thanks AIPAC for  protecting Americans.  Check it out here:  http://www.ussliberty.org/report/report.htm.
